Day with Clay Poster

About

Wimbeck Pottery StudioAnne’s passion for ceramics began whilst training to teach at King Alfred’s College, Winchester. Throughout her career teaching primary school children, she grasped every opportunity to give her pupils experiences working with clay. Her continued interest in ceramics led her to complete a range of courses and workshops to develop her skills.

Anne stopped teaching two years ago, and realized her dream of opening her own studio workshop. She now produces hand built functional and sculptural work and also a range of simple home ware.

Anne’s work is heavily influenced by the natural world.

“I live in an area of outstanding natural beauty in South Devon,” she says, “and I can’t help but be affected by the nature that surrounds me! I’m really interested in textures and surfaces, and am constantly taking photos and making sketches that help inspire my work.”
